WHAT IS A FILE NUMBER

A docket number is another name for your MC number. The FMCSA is currently working on making the DOT PIN and the PIN on file the same number. During the application process, we may request that you make those two numbers the same number.

WE NEED FOR THIS PROCESS

• USDOT Number
• US Federal ID (such as your EIN or SSN)
• Company Name
• Name of the person requesting the PIN
• The official title of that person’s role in your company
